Dear all,
Considering the complexity of David Lynch's films, and the more familiar cultural context Wong Kar Wai's oeuvre would present for you, I decided to change for his films instead:
Days of Being Wild (1990)
In the Mood for Love (2000)
2046 (2004)
Can the first one who sees this post, make sure the rest of the group know about it ASAP.
In any case, having watched one or several of David Lynch's films would certainly not hurt you...

Well, you should not wait until Tuesday to watch all 3 films and make your selection.
Aj Camille, these 3 movies are like series...so we have to choose only one? it looks like one whole story dividing into 3parts to me. And what kind of information you think its good to bring out for the design work? As I understand, the movies are mostly about love that is not successful and the intention of recapturing their best memories...
It is true that these 3 films can be understood together as a series. And this fact certainly gives you another dimension in which to consider them.
However we are not asking for a global understanding of the story(ies)/plot, rather for its structure and the way(s) both are translated into technical mise-en-scene, cinematographic and editing decisions.
Besides you have to select and analyse a sequence of one of the films - but, agreed, in our case, you could select a sequence that runs through the 3 films or is repeated in the 3 (or in 2) or any meaningful approach you may have -
